The Ivorian Head of State has finally yielded to the pressure by proceeding with the suspension of the 2018 tax schedule, which came into effect since 2 January 2018.
“I am very open, provided it is in the interest of the nation. As you have seen, the tax schedule has been adopted by the Council of Ministers. I asked that it be suspended and reviewed to be consistent with the direction we have in our country “said, Thursday 25 November 2018, Alassane Ouattara.
The decision that comes in a climate of contestation of this tax system by the private sector, will facilitate exchanges between the government and the Ivorian employers.
Recall that with this tax schedule the state had to collect 78 78 billion additional FCFA on all companies operating in Côte d’Ivoire. In terms of budget gain, this amount is estimated at 75, 4 billion.
In contrast, measures to help companies are encrypted 3,38 billion FCFA. To reach this amount, the State had to grant tax reductions ranging from 7,5% to 5% of the withholding tax rate for the Informal Sector Income Tax (Airsi).
