Since the beginning of the year, the declaration and the payment of the Taxes and taxes are obligatory in Ivory Coast for the “big” and “average” companies. The general direction of the Taxes reminded the economic operators this January 29.
“(…) the use of the e-taxes portal for the declaration and payment of Taxes and Taxes is mandatory since the 1er January 2018 for taxpayers under the direction of large companies (DGE) and the management of medium-sized enterprises ( DME) “details the Ivorian tax report.
Launched the 12 last April, the e-taxes portal is the result of reforms aimed at simplifying the administrative procedures and modernizing the Ivorian tax administration. At first, the idea is to target companies with a turnover of over 200 million FCFA (near 305 000 euros). But in the long run, the government’s ambition is to generalize the telepayment of tax obligations to all categories of taxpayers. With this in mind, it was announced the upcoming implementation of DGI-Mobile, an application to pay the tax via mobile money.
The dematerialization of tax collection, with less human intervention, is also a way to secure the mobilization of public funds. For this year, it is 2 263,4 billion FCFA, 3,45 billion euros, tax revenue that the country intends to recover.
