The African Center for Natural Resources (African Development Bank) is organizing a high-level seminar on skills development in the natural gas sector in West Africa from 17 to 18 April 2018.
The seminar will take place at the Tiama Hotel in Abidjan. It will highlight the transformative potential of natural gas for established gas producers and newcomers to this sector in West Africa.
Participants will discuss strategies to unlock natural gas potential for national and regional markets. The seminar will allow participants to better understand ongoing developments down the value chain, supportive policy frameworks and market dynamics.
The African Natural Resource Center has produced a series of analytical reports and a case study to guide policy decisions to promote natural gas value chains and domestication of gas in Africa. The seminar will examine some of the findings of this work.
This seminar will bring together decision-makers, industrialists, upstream and downstream natural gas production operators, investment bankers and academics. Participants will share their experience and develop strategies to maximize the potential of natural gas value chains.
Seminar participants will come from Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mauritania, Nigeria and Senegal.
Members of the media are invited to attend the opening session of the seminar from 08:00 to 09:45 on Tuesday, 17 April.
