According to Arbor Networks expert Jonathan Bourgain, DDoS attacks are launched by cyber criminals from multiple devices simultaneously, in a distributed manner.
It also considers that Gabon Telecom is the victim of 743 attacks per month, according to statistics. “There are three types of major denial of service attacks. The volumetric attacks to which the objective will be to saturate the links of the operators at the customers. The report will be a slowdown or a complete break connection. The second is going to be the state saturation, so of all firewall security equipment, IPS. And, finally, we have a third type of attack that targets the application layer. The goal is to target a specific resource. This can be a website or DNS servers that will impact the entire infrastructure of a client, “said the expert.
