Emmanuel Essis Esmel, the former head of CEPICI, the Ivorian investment promotion agency, entered the government on July 10 as State Secretary to the Prime Minister in charge of Investment Promotion private.
Graduated from ESCA (the Abidjan Business School), he has 35 years of professional experience in the national and international private sector. He began his career in 1982 as an assistant auditor and then senior in the firm Arthur Andersen, before holding, in 1998, the position of deputy general manager of the former Cosmivoire (Sifca group). From there, he began his international career in 2000 when he took the helm of BONAGUI, the Coca Cola bottling plant of the Equatorial Coca Cola Bottling Company (ECCBC) in Guinea as CEO. He will then take up the post of Regional Director of the ECCBC Group for Guinea, The Gambia and Guinea Bissau.
In 2009, he returned to Côte d’Ivoire to become Associate Director of AIC Consulting, Amsey’s International Consulting. He will be appointed in 2011 at the head of CEPICI, a strategic agency, following a call for applications.
In the last three years, between 2015 and 2017, the agency will have attracted CFAF 1,808 billion of private investment, or € 2.76 billion, representing 25% of private investment in the country over the period. A dynamism that has generated just over 111,000 jobs for the economy according to CEPICI figures.
