Ms. Yvonne Adélaïde Mougany, Minister of SMEs, Handicrafts and Informal Sector of the Republic of Congo paid a courtesy call on ASMEX on 1 August 2018 on the sidelines of her official mission to Morocco. During the exchanges of the Minister with the President of the ASMEX, Mr. Hassan Sentissi El Idrissi and members present at this meeting, the accent was put on the excellence of the political relations that exist between Morocco and the Republic of Congo and the need to strengthen their economic and trade partnership.
The Minister recalled on this occasion that her country is a net importer of consumer goods, and invited Moroccan exporters to explore the different opportunities that exist in all sectors.
Forest resources, water, minerals and agriculture are also opportunities for Moroccan investors following the adoption of several codes and regulations aimed at attracting foreign investment and simplifying procedures.
In this context, the Congolese government could provide investors with lots of land for the assembly of their projects. An urgent need for housing and irrigation was expressed at this meeting.
In addition, ASMEX informed the Minister that negotiations are underway with the Bolloré group, whose CEO was present at the meeting, to offer optimized logistical solutions to Moroccan economic operators interested in the African market in general. and that of the Republic of Congo in particular.
