Magic Banking, UBA’s new digital option Benin

United Bank for Africa Benin has just made available to its customers a new offer called “MAGIC BANKING”.

This is an option that allows customers to access and trade in their bank accounts and prepaid cards from USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) code. This code, dialed from a mobile phone, provides access to the UBA Magic Banking service menu.

The platform is accessible to any user subscribed to GSM MOOV and MTN networks, and does not require an internet connection. Customers abroad can make their roaming transactions from their mobile phone.

The “MAGIC BANKING” platform has a wide range of services that it offers to its customers such as the opening of a temporary bank account of Uba Benin. In addition, this account can only be used for deposits of funds as long as the customer has not completed the formalities of opening with his physical presence, with the relevant documents, in an agency.

Account-to-account, Uba Benin prepaid card transfers and vice versa are, among other things, other services offered by the platform. In the coming days, the interbank transfer of funds, the payment of benefits and invoices and the payment of tuition and registration fees for pupils and students are planned.

In addition, the bank is preparing to introduce on the market the possibility of making withdrawals in vending machines without cards.

For operations carried out from the “MAGIC BANKING” platform, the costs borne by the user are linked to card-to-card and card-to-account transfers, against a commission of 0.75%.
