The Moroccan group BMCE Bank Of Africa is interested in Gabon. This is the result of the meeting between Madeleine Edmée Berre, Gabonese Minister for Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnership, and Brahim Benjelloun-Touimi, Executive Director of the BMCE Bank Of Africa Group and President of the Bank Of Group. Africa, a subsidiary of BMCE Bank Of Africa.
According to information, the Moroccan Bank is interested in the International Bank for Trade and Industry of Gabon (Bicig). This historic institution, which has undergone a major restructuring in its turn after the sale in June of the 47% held by BNP Paribas to the Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund (FGIS), is looking for a partner weight technique.
The interview between the two personalities that took place in Libreville focused on a possible investment of the Moroccan banking group in Gabon and the possibilities of the contribution of the expertise to the modernization of the banking system Gabonese as well as innovations likely to be put in place in light of the ambitious reforms introduced by the Economic Recovery Plan.
The modernization of the Gabonese banking system should better meet the requirements of the Economic Recovery Plan. According to Mr. Benjelloun-Touimi, “the business panorama in Gabon is an opportunity to seize”.
