The Executive Director of APEX-CI (Association of Exporters of Côte d’Ivoire), Guy Mbengue, has just been co-opted into the Consultative Committee of the International Trade Center (ITC) to support supporting institutions Trade and Investment (TISI).
ITC’s Advisory Committee (ITC) is an independent body established to assist ITC in continuously improving the quality, relevance and effectiveness of the TISI Enhancement Program and all related activities. Committee members provide advice and strategic direction in the area of institution building.
The appointment of Guy Mbengue, who is also the president of the Network of UEMOA Trade Promotion Organizations (ROPC) and director of the CGECI (Ivorian employers), takes effect from 24 October and will end at the meeting. handover in conjunction with the 13th World Conference and the awarding of the network of trade promotion organizations in 2020.
ITC is a specialized agency of the United Nations, a subsidiary of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Geneva-based United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), see www.intracen.org.
ITC is responsible for building trade capacity and promoting investment by UN member countries and the private sector. Guy Mbengue’s cooptation bears the signature of ITC Director General Arancha Gonzalez, who briefed HE Mr. E. Kouadio Adjoumani, Permanent Representative of Côte d’Ivoire to the United Nations.
