After the success of the first edition in Paris, the 2d PPP Africa Forum will be held on November 12 and 13, 2018 at the Sofitel Hotel in Casablanca (Morocco), under the theme: “Promoting Agriculture and Information Technologies” and communication (ICT) in Africa through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) “.
Africa is facing the major challenges created by unprecedented urbanization, strong demographics with a predominantly young population, sustained economic growth for a decade, and an emerging and challenging middle class. At the same time, the scarcity of public financial resources makes it difficult to implement viable development policies based on quality infrastructure.
Many African governments have initiated proactive policies aimed at encouraging and encouraging the involvement of the private sector in the financing of structuring state projects, leading to the establishment of PPP contracts in order to build the emergence of economies.
A forum to facilitate the development of infrastructure and public services
This high-level forum follows the one held in Paris in 2017, which brought together more than 300 African and European executives and decision-makers with distinguished speakers, including Moussa Mara, former Prime Minister of Mali, Bernard Kouchner, former French Minister Foreign Affairs, Charles Paradis Managing Director of Bouygues Concessions, etc.
The 2018 edition of the Africa PPP Forum (http://forum-ppp.com/) is an exceptional opportunity for investors and international companies to better immerse themselves in this dynamic and opportunities for partnerships. It also represents a unique framework for states to present their PPP projects and associated investment opportunities.
This forum will create an enabling environment for productive dialogue between policy makers and key players in the public and private sectors. Offering training and business visits, this event is also part of a process of capitalization of good practices, the most outstanding will receive a distinction (Awards) at a gala dinner.
Through conferences and thematic panels, about twenty international panelists and speakers will apply to analyze the role of PPPs in the digital transformation in Africa, both in terms of infrastructures (optical fiber, mobile networks …) and in term uses (digital public services, e-government …). This event will also focus on the mobilization of the private sector by African states to support agricultural production (irrigation networks, land servicing, marketing and processing structures …).
