Summoned to choose his side, Guillaume Soro, president of the national assembly of Côte d’Ivoire, is, more than ever, back to the wall. His refusal to take a stand between the supporters of the unification of the parties of the presidential majority and those who hold the independence of the PDCI of Henri Konan Bedié, tactically defensible, would be politically ambiguous. Decryption.
“Little by little, the bird is nesting”. It is by this small sentence posted, Friday, December 6, on its Facebook page that Guillaume Soro answered to Adama Bictogo, president of the Committee of organization of the next congress which must finalize the creation of the unified party. In the eyes of the former minister, the “PAN” must resign if he does not adhere to this new political party to be born from the merger of the political parties of the presidential majority. Although he has never declared himself against the unified party, Guillaume Soro has never been favorable either, calling for “let time make things easier”.
Meanwhile, some of his supporters mention his candidacy in 2020. “Of course he (Guillaume Soro) will be a candidate. There is no doubt about that, “Affoussiata Bamba-Lamine, former Ivorian Minister of Communication, a close associate of the president of the National Assembly, recently replied. Last July, Soro had said to think about a candidacy on France 24, the day after the speech of President Ouattara calling “to pass the hand to a new generation”. Since then, a lot of water has flowed under the third bridge of Abidjan.
