The Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) and the School of Management Sciences of the University of Quebec at Montreal (ESG UQAM) have created a formal framework for cooperation for a long-term partnership in the field of training, by signing a Memorandum
of Cooperation Agreement.
Through this Memorandum, the BRVM and the ESG UQAM pledge to collaborate to provide the UEMOA regional financial ecosystem with a training and capacity building tool. This in the form of basic training, continuous training and certifying actors and stakeholders of the regional financial market, as well as financial education of the populations of UEMOA.
For the Director General of the BRVM and DC / BR, Mr. Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE, “It is a question of providing a response to the needs of financial education expressed by the general public (basic training on the financial markets) and market professionals (continuing education and certification) in light of the new demands of the financial professions in the face of a changing technological environment “.
The BRVM has been deploying training efforts in recent years and intends to accelerate the pace of the issues so that the penetration of the notions and practices of finance in the populations is stronger. This is why “the BRVM has decided to call upon technical partners such as ESG UQAM, which is a School of Excellence in Canada to accompany it,” said AMENOUNVE.
As for Mr. Komlan SEDZRO, Dean of ESG UQAM, his Institution is “happy to accompany the BRVM in this project and on the essential components of human capital development and technological innovation. It is an important project dedicated to training, an essential framework for the capacity building of financial professionals in an integrating and community vision. A winning partnership for both organizations that wants to be agile in order to respond to the increasingly rapid changes in the financial world “.
The two institutions will also work to promote technological innovation in the financial markets, the development of Fintechs and digital finance within WAEMU and throughout the African continent.
