The Burkinabé Ministry of Culture and Tourism in collaboration with industry players (hoteliers, investors …) wants to give a boost to domestic tourism, according to Tuesday, August 7 from government sources.
Thus, the authorities will proceed to lowering hotel rates by 25% until 30 September 2019 for nationals.
The initiative should allow citizens to frequent hotels, suggested Pierre Zoungrana, president of the association of owners of hotels and restaurants in Burkina Faso.
According to official statistics, tourism activity increased by 5.4% over the 2017/2018 period.
