The turnover of the Modern Ceramic Company (SOMOCER) recorded an increase of 22.06% at the end of the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period of the year 2020, according to the activity indicators of this based company. in Menzel Hayet a town located 35 km southwest of Monastir in Tunisia.
This turnover reached 24.187 million dinars on March 31, 2021 while it stood at 19.816 million dinars on March 31, 2020, an increase of 4.371 million dinars. The local turnover which represents 93% of the total turnover amounts to 22.461 million dinars against 18.256 million dinars as of March 31, 2020 (+ 23.03%).
As for the export turnover, it grew by 10.63%, amounting to 1.726 million dinars against 1.560 million dinars in the first quarter of 2020. According to SOMOCER officials, this progression is taking place “despite the pandemic which has spread rapidly since January 2020 in the world and which has negatively impacted the activity of international trade.
Regarding production, SOMOCER data indicate that it recorded during the period under review an increase of 19.32% to 24.225 million dinars against 20.303 million dinars in the first quarter of 2020. At the level of investments achieved on March 31, 2021, a total of 0.507 million dinars was recorded against 1.685 million dinars in the 1st quarter of 2020.
Regarding SOMOCER’s bank commitments, they amounted to 80.496 million dinars against a total of 72.044 million dinars for the same period of 2020. In these commitments, short-term debts are in the majority, standing at 49.998 million. dinars (+ 9.07%) while long and medium-term debts stand at 30.498 million dinars (+ 16.39%).
