Bolloré Transport & Logistics Chad and the Christian Association for the Development of Education for Children in Need (ACDEED) signed on Monday May 17, 2021 a sponsorship agreement in the amount of 6.5 million FCFA (i.e. 10,000 euros) to support the education of 100 young girls from the public schools of Walia Gore in N’Djamena and Delebe & Bougoumene in the sub-prefecture of Loumia. The ACDEED association, founded in N’Djamena in 2014, was selected via the Earthtalent platform, the Bolloré Group’s solidarity program.
This funding will allow ACDEED promoters to prepare for the start of the 2021/2022 school year by providing the beneficiary students with the necessary school material as well as class clothes and to offer educational support provided by specialized facilitators with a view to their social integration and professional.
“Out of ignorance, we previously favored sending only boys to school to the detriment of girls who were given away early in marriage. Thanks to ACDEED and its partner the Bolloré Group, our young girls now have the opportunity to attend normal schooling to build a bright future. “Said Michel BAWA, parent of a student sponsored by the ACDEED association.
Present at the ceremony, Daniel LAOU, Secretary General and head of girls’ education projects of the ACDEED association said: “We salute the outpouring of Bolloré Transport & Logistics Chad, which supports the underprivileged and underprivileged. This partnership will help us to fulfill our missions to contribute to the educational well-being of children and to fight against early marriage as well as precariousness. “
Ahmat ABDELKERIM, Managing Director of Bolloré Transport & Logistics Chad: “We are formalizing our partnership with ACDEED to ensure the protection and full development of children supported by the association. Despite the difficult economic situation linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have the ambition to continue our actions in favor of Chadian youth in line with the Bolloré Group’s CSR policy. “
