“Although the situation remains fluid and the extent of the damage is not yet known, it is already clear that the eruption of the Nyiragongo volcano and the continued seismic activity have displaced hundreds of thousands of people in and around Goma. . Parts of the city had to be evacuated. Its water supply system was also seriously damaged, ”he explained. Adding that emergency funding will be used to meet the immediate needs of affected people in DR Congo and Rwanda.
