The National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) signed this Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the headquarters of the Bank, Immeuble Rivonia, an agreement with the National Union of Associations, Traders, Operators and Investors of Senegal (UNACOIS-YESSAL) which campaigns for the promotion of local production.
This partnership aims to facilitate and simplify the financing of the industrialization program of the members of UNACOIS YESSAL and beyond to support the success of this highly strategic project.
From its beginnings to the present day, UNACOIS Yessal aims on the one hand to develop the “small industry” of consumer goods (soap, oil, food products, small hardware, etc.); and on the other hand to assist its operating members in promising sectors for the financing and development of their project.
Indeed, with more than 120,000 members within the national territory, UNACOIS Yessal aspires just like BNDE to contribute to the economic development of Senegal, in particular to the promotion of national production and the consolidation of Financial Inclusion.
In other words, support economic operators in formalization and support them in their project to transform agricultural production, but also consumer products.
With over 90% of the active population in Senegal working in the informal sector, there is a real opportunity to generate employment and wealth. In addition, UNACOIS and BNDE share the same values of patriotism, national unity and progress, which therefore led to the signing of this partnership agreement, based on a classic financing mechanism, backed by a line of guarantee.
Thus, as the Director General of BNDE mentioned at the end of the ceremony, Mr. Thierno Seydou Nourou SY: “BNDE is honored and reiterates its full availability to fully assist low-income traders, operators and investors, and provide them with savings, credit, signature commitment, money transfer and salary domiciliation products. We thank the UNACOIS Yessal delegation and welcome their commitment to support their activities. ”
BNDE has succeeded in creating and consolidating more than 8,000 jobs, and still continues to support the economic activities of traders in the 14 regions of Senegal, the bank thus confirms its commitment to be the privileged partner of SMEs and its desire to strongly contribute to the revival of the Senegalese economy alongside all economic operators.
