The African Import-Export Bank (Afreximbank) and the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) -Senegal signed this Thursday, November 18, 2021 a financing line agreement of 05 million Euros to DURBAN (South Africa) intended to support Senegalese companies in the context of financing the working capital needs of SMEs.
This line should enable BNDE to strengthen its financial capacities and to have significant resources to pursue the development of factoring and support businesses in their day-to-day activity.
As a reminder, this new financing agreement consolidates a long relationship of trust between the two institutions. Indeed, BNDE has already benefited from a first financing agreement with Afreximbank which enabled it to launch the Factoring activity in Senegal.
In addition to this new line, the Bank already has an L / C confirmation line of 10 million euros which has just been increased to 15 million euros, which will also make it possible to finance Trade operations. Finance.
The signing of the convention took place in the presence of Safiatou NDIAYE, Ambassador of Senegal in South Africa, Mamadou NDIAYE, deputy representing the Senegalese diaspora in southern Africa, Ms. Adjaratou GUEYE representing ASEPEX, Thierno Seydou Nourou SY , CEO of BNDE and Mr Denis DENYA, Vice-President of Afreximbank.
At the end of the ceremony, Thierno Seydou Nourou SY congratulated and thanked the President of Afreximbank, Benedict Oramah, his vice-president and all his collaborators, in particular the Ivory Coast office which spares no effort. to support the bank through a quality partnership that helps to better understand the mission of the BNDE and to prevent the risks associated with banking activity.
