During a lively press briefing on Sunday, November 28 following his Koran reading ceremony, Imam Mahmoud Dicko called for the union and the coming together of Malians in order to save the “sick nation”. So he pleaded for the indulgence of the international community towards Mali.
Very political as usual, Imam Mahmoud Dicko, who is visibly seeking to reposition himself on the stage, this time evokes in French his country’s relations with foreign countries, in particular with other ECOWAS member countries. And there, locally, he clearly chooses the camp of the doves against that of the hawks.
Imam Mahmoud Dicko addressed the Malian authorities: “You are our sons! God has given you the management of the country. But we have found that things are wrong… ”. He explains that he and other clerics have requested to meet with current Malian leaders to discuss the situation in the country, but for the moment they are facing a closed door.
“Politician” for some, “jihadist pawn” for others, Imam Dicko says he has taken several hits. He therefore took advantage of this press briefing to clarify things. His relations with ATT, Amadou Haya Sanogo, IBK, Colonel Assimi Goïta, Bah N’daw, Moctar Ouane, M5-RFP… Dicko explained everything. According to him, he has always been asked for his involvement in the management of the country.
Speaking of the management of the country after IBK, Mahmoud Dicko reveals everything. “I proposed a prime minister without asking the M5-RFP for advice. The first person I went to see to be prime minister was Abdoulaye Idrissa Maïga. He refused, “he suggested before adding that he also proposed Moctar Ouane.
Moreover, Mahmoud seems to be disappointed by the behavior of the leaders of the M5-RFP. “When I said I am going to go back to the mosque, no one asked me to stay,” he revealed. Note that Imam Mahmoud Dicko took advantage of this outing to denounce the behavior of the transitional authorities vis-à-vis religious leaders, including him.
