Abdelwahab Nougaoui joins the Wafa Assurance group as advisor to the CEO, according to an announcement made on Monday, January 24. This insurance veteran’s mission, specifies the same source, is to lead Wafa Assurance’s projects in reinsurance, such as the launch of a reinsurance activity and the development of capacities for placing large risks on the international markets of reinsurance.
An engineer by training and a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France), Abdelwahab Nougaoui boasts more than 33 years of experience in the field of insurance. Also holder of a diploma of higher studies specialized in business management from the IAE of Lille (France), he was successively deputy general manager at Gras Savoye Morocco, director of Development, Communication and Organization at AGMA and joined the AFMA group in January 2006 where he served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer until December 31, 2021.
Insurance subsidiary of the Attijariwafa Bank group, Wafa Assurance is present in 6 African countries through 10 insurance companies. In addition to Morocco, the company operates in Tunisia, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Egypt, and intends to expand its presence in other countries, particularly in English-speaking Africa.
