Allianz announced, the 16 January 2018, the appointment of Joerg Weber, aged 49 years and German nationality to the post of General Manager of Allianz Morocco, effect of 1ernext February.
As part of his new role, Joerg will be responsible for strengthening the presence of Allianz Morocco and pursue the ambition to double the market share of the Company. He will report to Coenraad Vrolijk, CEO of Allianz Africa.
Joerg began his career at Dresdner Bank AG in 1987. He later joined McKinsey in 1996 as an Engagement Manager. Since 2002, he has held various positions at Allianz Finance and as Head of Business Division Europe West and South, including Africa.
Since July 2013, Joerg is a member of the Executive Committee of Allianz Benelux as Head of Direct Distribution, Digitalization and Market Management. He is also Managing Director of AllSecur Netherlands, subsidiary of Direct Distribution of Allianz in Holland.
Joerg graduated from ESCP Europe and holds a PhD in Business Administration from Henley Management College and Brunel University.
