The Regional Exchange for Securities (BRVM) has completed the second stage of its Road Show “BRVM Investment Days 2018” in London, Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in partnership with Thomson Reuters with the effective presence of Mr. Pierre Atépa GOUDIABY, Chairman of the Boards Board of Directors of BRVM and DC / BR, David CRAIG, President Finance and Risks THOMSON REUTERS and Dr Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE, Managing Director of BRVM and DC / BR.
Setting the objectives of the London meeting, Mr. Pierre Atépa GOUDIABY
indicated that this edition of the BRVM Investment Days should favor among other things (i) the
development of long-term strategic partnerships between Regional Institutions
UEMOA and international financial actors based in London; (ii) the conclusion of
business relations between commercial players in the regional financial market and
international investors and (iii) better knowledge of UEMOA, a space
perfectly integrated covering 8 countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau,
Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo) with more than 100 million consumers.
He then stressed that the BRVM aims to strengthen further, in the course of
future years, its contribution to the financing of the WAEMU economies in particular
SMEs, before reaffirming the commitment of the Boards of Directors of the BRVM and the
DC / BR to meet the major challenges of the market namely, its attractiveness for issuers,
its liquidity for investors etc.
This stage of the BRVM Investment Days in London saw the participation of around a hundred
people including banks (Standard Bank, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, …), brokers
international companies (Renaissance Capital, Silkinvest, …), news broadcasters
(Reuters, Bloomberg, …), rating agencies (Moody’s, S & P, …), Asset
managers (Goldman Sachs Asset Management, BNPPARRIBAS Asset Management, Red
Ribbon Asset Management, …), Private Equity Funds (HELIOS Capital, FIERA Capital, etc.) etc. Regional institutions as well as several Regional Financial Market Management Companies also participated in the meeting.
The various speakers noted the good economic performance of the WAEMU in recent years, its resilience to exogenous shocks, its monetary assets and its good growth prospects, particularly those of Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal.
The Director General of the BRVM, Dr. Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE took the opportunity to make
the state of play of the Regional Financial Market and present its potential for development. It also revealed to investors the new vision of the BRVM as well as the five strategic pillars on which it is based: (i) consolidation of shareholding, governance and demutualization; (ii) technological strengthening; (iii) the development of stock culture and the promotion of the market; (iv) contribution to the development of a policy, operational and regulatory environment conducive to investment; and (v) improvement of liquidity and market depth.
He finally welcomed the partnership currently being concluded with Thomson Reuters which will allow
to post in real time the data of the BRVM on this platform

The listed companies present (ETI, Ecobank Ivory Coast, Bank Of Africa Group) have,
by the voice of their General Managers or their representatives, presented their activities,
their 2017 financial performance as well as their strategic areas of development
for the next years.
The main actors of the London market participating in the meeting reaffirmed their
interest in investing in UEMOA countries. They wished for this purpose, to have more
financial information preferably in English and on time on companies
listed in order to better guide their decisions.
