The shareholders of the Multinational Bitumen Company (SMB) Côte d’Ivoire, will receive on 29 August 2019, for the 2018 financial year, a net total dividend of CFAF 1,815 billion (ie 2,723 million euros), announced the leaders of this company based in Abidjan.
This corresponds to a net dividend per share of 450 FCFA.
At the end of the 2018 financial year, the SMB had realized an after-tax profit of 7.877 billion FCFA against 7.506 billion FCFA in 2017, a slight increase of 4.94%.
Its turnover was up sharply by 43.936 billion FCFA, from 90.262 billion FCFA in 2017 to 134.198 billion FCFA a year later.
During the period under review, purchases of materials and supplies increased by nearly CFAF 40 billion, with a total of CFAF 97.984 billion compared with CFAF 58.192 billion as at 31 December 2017.
The company’s gross margin stood at 29.872 billion FCFA while it stood at 26.780 billion FCFA in 2017 (plus 11.54%).
As for value added, it fell by 3.79% to 14,902 billion FCFA.
The same downward trend has characterized the gross operating surplus from 12.336 billion CFA francs in 2017 to 11.376 billion CFA francs in 2018.
On the other hand, a slight increase of 1.25% is noted at the level of the operating result to 11.376 billion FCFA against 11.235 billion FCFA previously.
Regarding the equity of the SMB, they almost doubled from CFAF 7.680 billion at 31 December 2017 to CFAF 14.584 billion a year later.
For their part, the financial debts and similar resources were heavily compressed: from 25.423 billion CFA francs in 2017, they are reduced to 13.325 billion FCFA a year later.
