On the advice of the Egyptian authorities, the 2021 Inaugural Conference of The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE, initially scheduled for the end of March, will finally take place on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in Cairo.
The General Commission thanks the Egyptian authorities and expresses in particular its deep gratitude to the Egyptian Minister of Transport, His Excellency Mr. Kamel ELWAZEER and his collaborators.
The General Commission recalls that the Inaugural Conference is a forum for exchange to share experiences on the road and transport, in relation to the central theme of the year. For this 6th edition, the chosen theme is: “Roads and transport for health: actions and achievements to meet the challenges in Africa”.
It is about sharing ideas and best practices in the relationship between road, transport and health, in the context of a global health crisis. It is also a question of reviewing road safety policies when Africa has a very large number of illnesses and deaths directly linked to the road.
The Inaugural Conference 2021 will also be, in accordance with tradition, the opportunity to reveal the name of the 2021 winner of the Babacar NDIAYE Trophy. The General Commission thanks AfDB (African Development Bank) and its President, Dr Akinwumi ADESINA, Godfather of The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE.
The General Commission thanks all its sponsors and partners, as well as the media, who accompany it.
