The Fédération des Sociétés d’Assurances de Droit National Africaines (FANAF) is organizing its 48th Annual General Meeting in Mauritania. It will be held from February 18 to 22, 2024 in Nouakchott under the theme:
“Insurance at the service of Africa’s economic and social development“.
Objectives of the FANAF General Assembly
- To recall Africa’s efforts to develop the insurance sector to its full potential;
- To encourage all African countries to take a greater interest in this sector, which is a growth driver;
- Continue to expand FANAF’s membership, which now stands at over 209 companies;
- Present existing and future schemes, strategies, action plans and business models;
- Establish mechanisms for self-regulation and supervision of the insurance sector.
- To bring together more insurers within FANAF.

The Fédération des Sociétés d’Assurances de Droit National Africaines, abbreviated FANAF, is a trade association whose major challenge is to encourage the creation of purely local insurance companies with wholly or partly African capital. Headquartered in Dakar, Senegal, FANAF currently has 209 members.
The Association’s aim is to promote the insurance and reinsurance sector in Africa as a key industry.
