Participants’ Profile: This seminar is aimed at Risk Managers, Operational Risk Managers, Compliance Managers, Legal Managers, or Internal Auditors, as well as team leaders (Operations, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, and Sales functions) wishing to enhance their knowledge in governance and control environment in general, and operational risk management in particular, using internationally recognized methodologies and practices.
Training Objectives: The objective is to strengthen the anticipation and understanding of risks in financial institutions in an increasingly competitive environment and a regulatory context that is becoming more demanding. Identifying risks and prioritizing them through formal quantitative and qualitative measures should enable a systematic and appropriate response within an agile risk management framework to maintain the institution’s risk profile within the risk appetite defined by its Board of Directors. Operational risk management, the broadest risk category requiring a wide range of technical and human skills, is particularly attentive to adding value to the overall control environment and to business functions in particular, in order to contribute to a healthy and sustainable execution of the company’s business model.
Trainer: With over twenty-five years of experience in the international financial sector (external auditing and consulting, investment funds, private and commercial banks, microfinance institutions, asset management, and insurance), Mr. Samuel GRAND serves as a Trainer at the FAGACE Institute. He has held successive positions as External Auditor/Consultant, Internal Audit Director, Risk Management Director, Member of the European Executive Committee responsible for governance and optimization of organizational processes through various control functions, and now dedicates himself to Non-executive Director mandates on the boards of financial institutions, consulting missions, and numerous training programs on the international scene. Mr. GRAND is notably involved in training sessions at the West African Banking Training and Study Center (COFEB) of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) and holds the internationally recognized INSEAD – International Director Program certification, focusing on corporate governance, value creation, and the role and responsibilities of the Board of Directors.
