Western Union has opened its first “concept store” in Morocco in partnership with Cash Plus. Located in Errahma, near Casablanca, this store offers a new experience for customers sending and receiving international funds. This opening is part of Western Union’s global “Evolve 2025” strategy, aimed at providing dedicated locations for smoother and more accessible money transfers. Mohamed Touhami el Ouazzani, Western Union’s Regional Vice President for Africa, expressed his satisfaction: “Morocco is a key market for our growth in Africa. We are delighted to collaborate with Cash Plus to improve accessibility and financial inclusion.”
In 2023, Morocco received approximately $12 billion in remittances, representing about 8% of its GDP. The launch of this concept store aims to strengthen Western Union’s presence in Africa and provide more personalized and efficient service to customers. Hazim Sebatta, CEO of Cash Plus, added: “Our partnership with Western Union redefines the money transfer experience in Morocco, offering increased convenience and reliability.” This new store is an example of Western Union’s commitment to investing in inclusive and accessible financial services, thus supporting the prosperity of local communities.
