Morocco Fruit Board recently hosted its 6th annual international conference under the captivating theme “Green Logistics: Sustainable Paths to Decarbonization,” held at the Sofitel Royal Bay Agadir Hotel.
The event was honoured by the presence of the Governor of the Souss Massa Region, the President of the Souss Massa Region, the President of the Chamber of Agriculture of Souss Massa, representatives of local authorities, and a large community of Moroccan and international logistics stakeholders.
In his opening speech, the Chairman of Morocco Fruit Board emphasized the urgency of adopting sustainable practices to address global climate and environmental challenges, highlighting decarbonization as an ecological necessity and a competitive advantage for Moroccan export products. He also praised Morocco Fruit Board’s initiatives in its commitment to green logistics, reiterating his encouragement to explore decarbonization pathways and work towards a sustainable future.
The event brought together global logistics leaders, shipping companies, road transporters, decarbonization experts, and actors from the fruit and vegetable sector. Together, they explored the challenges and opportunities related to reducing carbon emissions along the supply chain.
Panel discussions highlighted the strategies adopted by industry stakeholders and presented innovative technological and operational solutions to achieve ambitious decarbonization goals. The focus was particularly on collaboration among supply chain actors and the transformative impact of new technologies.

He also emphasized the critical importance of innovation and emerging technologies to optimize flows and promote sustainable logistics.
The conference also highlighted the competitive advantages that Morocco could develop in major international markets through greener logistics. In this regard, the importance of green maritime initiatives linking Morocco to Europe, particularly the UK market, illustrates significant progress in sustainable maritime transport and confirms the criticality of effective collaboration among logistics stakeholders for the success of the decarbonization strategy. This event marks a significant milestone in the efforts of Morocco Fruit Board and its partners to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly logistics, positioning Morocco as a key player in the ecological transformation of the global logistics sector.
