On 13 August 2024, AGL Congo acquired 52 latest-generation 6X4 road tractors and 12 semi trailers. The company has just increased its road fleet by nearly 17%, and plans to exceed the 30% threshold by the end of 2024.
In order to satisfy the growing needs of its customers for the provision of equipment, AGL Congo is investing massively in the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment. 64 Sino-truck Hohan/Howo road tractors and 95 40’ semi-trailers have been ordered at a total cost of around 4 billion CFA francs (nearly 6 million euros). The 52 tractors and 12 trailers are part of the partial delivery.
The 6X4 tractors are adapted to the most complex road logistics thanks to the quality of the truck’s finish, which inspires robustness and reliability, and a range of equipment (LCD screen, LED lights) offering maximum safety and comfort on the road. These features consume little diesel and are in line with the Group’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
‘We believe in Africa and the Congo. We are going to continue to invest in staff training and the acquisition of modern, high-performance equipment to support the economic growth of our customers and the country,’ explains Christophe PUJALTE, Regional Director of AGL Congo/RDC/Angola.
AGL Congo has more than 300 road tractors and 53 semi-trailers. The acquisition of 95 trailers by the end of the year will renew the fleet by 100%, and increase its capacity and delivery times.
