Nigeria is set to host the 32nd Afreximbank Annual Meetings (AAM), which will take place in Abuja from June 23 to 28, 2025. The signing of the Host Country Agreement between the Federal Government of Nigeria and Afreximbank marks a key milestone in the preparation of this high-profile international event.
The Afreximbank Annual Meetings are one of the most anticipated economic gatherings in Africa, bringing together Heads of State, government officials, industry leaders, experts, and high-level decision-makers to discuss strategic issues related to trade, investment, and the socio-economic development of the continent. The 2025 edition is expected to be the largest in the Bank’s history, with more than 6,000 delegates from Africa, the CARICOM region, and other parts of the world.
Under the theme “Building the Future on Decades of Resilience,” the event will highlight the progress made over the past three decades and the key measures needed to navigate an increasingly complex global economic environment. The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) will be a central topic, emphasizing its crucial role in Africa’s sustainable economic transformation.
This edition will also reinforce the strong partnership between Afreximbank and Nigeria, the Bank’s second-largest shareholder and its main beneficiary. Since its establishment in 1993, Afreximbank has injected approximately $52 billion into the Nigerian economy, supporting key projects such as the African Medical Centre of Excellence, the African Quality Assurance Centre, and the Afreximbank African Trade Centre.
Following the success of the 2024 edition in Nassau, The Bahamas, which gathered over 4,000 participants, the 2025 Annual Meetings are expected to be a landmark event in shaping Africa’s economic future.
