1. Location and Dates
The Annual General Assembly (AGA) of ID4Africa will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from May 20 to 23, 2025, at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel. This strategic venue will host participants from diverse backgrounds to exchange and discuss current and future challenges related to digital identity in Africa.
2. AGA Objectives
The ID4Africa AGA is the annual must-attend event for the priorities of ID4D in Africa. It gathers a wide range of stakeholders, including government representatives, development agencies, industrial leaders, and civil society members. The conference program is designed to address issues and opportunities related to digital identity across the African continent, with a particular focus on innovative practices and digital resilience.
3. Conferences and Presentations
The AGA offers a unique platform for conferences, panels, and presentations by renowned experts. These sessions will cover various topics such as the integration of identity technologies, strengthening digital resilience, and best practices to maximize the impact of digital identity in socio-economic development. Speakers will share their knowledge and insights on the latest developments and trends in the ID4D field.

An exhibition will be held alongside the conference, showcasing innovative technological solutions tailored to the specific needs of Africa. Participants will have the opportunity to explore and engage with technology providers who are central to efforts in strengthening digital identity on the continent. This exhibition also facilitates networking between key sector players, fostering necessary synergies for the future development of digital identity.

Founded in 2014, ID4Africa is an Identity Movement for All dedicated to helping African nations develop robust and responsible identity ecosystems to drive socio-economic progress, digital development, and humanitarian action. The Movement serves as Africa’s voice, ensuring that the continent’s needs and priorities are well-represented in the global development discourse. It advocates for identity for all as both a legal right (in line with Sustainable Development Goal 16.9) and a practical necessity to empower people in their daily lives. The Movement believes that inclusive identity systems, built on respect for human rights and privacy, are essential for economic growth and digital development.
Throughout the year, ID4Africa engages with its 48 member countries to assess the continent’s priorities. The findings are consolidated into reliable knowledge and disseminated through its convening platforms, primarily the Annual General Meeting (AGA) and LiveCasts.
