Context:
In recent years, global uncertainties have significantly impacted Africa’s development trajectory. These uncertainties stem from various factors, including geopolitical tensions, economic volatility, and health crises. Each of these elements contributes to a complex landscape for African economies, which must navigate multiple challenges to ensure long-term development.
The 2024 African Economic Conference (AEC), jointly organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will focus on how Africa can secure its economic future amidst increasing uncertainty. The goal is to provide a platform for in-depth discussions, idea exchanges, and the development of practical solutions to strengthen the continent’s economic resilience.

“Securing Africa’s Economic Future Amid Growing Uncertainty”
The conference will highlight current challenges and opportunities for Africa while exploring strategies to navigate an increasingly volatile global economic environment. Discussions will aim to formulate recommendations for stronger economic governance, the diversification of African economies, and enhancing regional integration, all in support of sustainable and inclusive development on the continent.
